Police looking for man they think robbed three banks Tuesday morning

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police are asking for help looking for a bank robbery suspect they’re calling the Short Stack Bandit.

Police say the man maybe have robbed three banks Wednesday morning, including the Umpqua Bank branch at 1448 N.E. Weidler St. just after 10 a.m.

They said the man was last seen on N.E. 15th Ave.

The suspect is thought to be a white or a light-skinned Hispanic man in his early 20s. He’s about 5-foot-8 with a medium build and light facial hair. He was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a dark hooded jacket, a red shirt and dark pants.

Police said a man fitting a similar description robbed the Wells Fargo  branch at 5730 N.E.  Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and the Albina Community Bank at 2002 N.E. MLK.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
