Police ride-along stops attempt to steal cop car
MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A civilian in the testing process for Medford's police department is being credited for stopping a woman from stealing a police car during a traffic stop.
The unidentified civilian was on a ride-along early Saturday morning with a Medford police officer who pulled over two people on suspicion of drunken driving.
Police say 27-year-old Chad Paxton assaulted police officers during the stop, endured a stun gun shock and broke free of officers attempting to detain him.
While police pursued Paxton, police say 36-year-old Shilo Schalk tried to steal the idling patrol car.
The civilian riding along with officers stopped Schalk. She is being charged with unlawful entry and attempted unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Paxton faces charges of assault on a police officer, drunken driving and several other charges.
An example of why police should use guns instead of tazers. If the police officer would've just shot the dumb ass we would never hear about ol' Chad Paxton again! Then, his two bit girlfriend would possibly get the message, become a nun you loser. Good job to the ride along!
They will be out and back on the streets before dark. this is not important compared to bike lanes and sidewalks.

Well, the crazies are out there and more are getting released from ORYGUN jails everyday due to overcrowding. 25,000 folks are losing unemployment insurance on 1/01/2013 in ORYGUN and the gubmint wants more of your money to pay for more social programs to take care of these skel's. Yea, give up your weapons unconditionally because these skel's are just misunderstood and would never hurt you, or your family when they kick your door to take what you have...
Alcohol causes many problems. It makes people do stupid and dangerous things, things they may not have ordinarily done. These two are proof of that.

@Just Lookin YEA!! Alcohol kills alot more people then cars, guns, and knives any day, any year. Why aren't we outlawing booze? Why aren't we stopping all imports of this killer? If you are going to ban guns, then you had better include cars and booze.
