Newberg man turns himself in after alleged machete assault

NEWBERG, Ore. – A man Newberg police say attacked his roommate with a machete early Saturday morning turned himself in.

Police responded to a call on S. Pennington Dr. at 2:47 a.m. in which a man reported his roommate was intoxicated and threatening another roommate with a machete.

When they arrived, they found a man with an injured hand and learned the suspect, 25-year-old Noah Norton, had fled the scene.

Police say Norton also threatened his other roommate with the machete.

Norton was charged with second-degree assault, menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.
