Police search for bank robbery suspect
PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are looking for a man who robbed a Unitus Credit Union in Southeast Portland Saturday afternoon.
It happened at 1052 SE 96th Ave. at around 2:45 p.m., police said.
The suspect showed the teller a handgun and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was hurt.
Police searched the neighborhood, but could not find the suspect. He’s described as a white man in his 40s who is 5’9’’ tall with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothes and a beanie cap.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call Detective Brett Hawkinson at 503-823-1080 or the Portland FBI office at 503-224-4181.
Just a thought here. Why don't banks build in a double door system built out of bullet proof glass and when some dirt bag decides to rob them they flip a switch that locks them into the bullet proof vestibule when they try to leave? It would be easy enough to engineer a design.
Did the beanie cap have a propellor on top?
