PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are looking for a man whom they said robbed a Downtown Portland bank Monday afternoon.

The suspect, described as a white man in his late 30s, walked into a U.S. Bank branch at 410 Southwest Harrison Street and gave a teller a note demanding money, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson.

The suspect left the area on foot toward Portland State University, Simpson said.

Police searched the area and part of the PSU campus, but could not find anyone matching the suspect’s description.

PSU sent out an alert to students and staff as a precaution.

The suspect is described as about 5’8’’ tall with a slim build. He has brown or black hair that was parted on one side. He wore glasses, a dark sports coat over a white shirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Detective Brett Hawkinson at 503-823-1080.
