Police search for teenager who vanished on trip to downtown Portland

CORNELIUS, Ore. -- Police want your help as they try to find a 14-year-old teenager who vanished while in Portland over the weekend.

Drew Martin's mother, Erica Spencer, initially posted about her son on KATU News's Facebook page. She says her son left Hillsboro High School on Friday with friends to go see a concert in downtown Portland and did not come home.

Cornelius police consider him endangered because he was not prepared to be out overnight. Martin had no spare clothing, cash or any place to stay.

Members of the community contacted KATU News via our Facebook page wondering about another teenager who may be with Martin. A Hillsboro Police spokesman told KATU the mother of the second teenager said his behavior was not uncommon and she did not suspect any foul play.

"Obviously the parents are concerned," said Lt. Mike Rouches of Hillsboro Police. "But this appears to be a standard runaway case. We have officers at school today checking with classmates to see if they have any information."

If you have any information, contact police.
