Hillsboro police seek public's help finding 2011 gang shooting suspect

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Police are asking for the public’s help finding a man wanted in connection with a 2011 gang shooting in Hillsboro.

Police say Leopoldo Junior Diaz, 26, shot and wounded 15-year-old Luis Solano-Sanchez on March 27, 2011. It happened near the intersection of Cornell Road and Northeast 21st Avenue.

A Washington County grand jury indicted Diaz for attempted murder, assault in the first degree, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.

Diaz is described as a Hispanic man who is 5-foot-7 and 132 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and several tattoos on his body, including “FG 14” on his chest and a Huelga bird on his left leg.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
