Police find girl who was reported missing by mother

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Police officers found a four-year-old girl who had been reported missing by her mother on Wednesday afternoon. She was safe with a neighbor.

Dozens of officers scoured parts North Portland for several hours looking for Laura Morodai.

Lt. Robert King said the girl’s mother showed up at Ockley Green School in North Portland around 1 p.m. saying she couldn’t find her daughter.

School officials called 9-1-1 minutes later to alert police.

The girl's mother apparently didn't speak English well, which might by why she went to the school.

During the search, police told KATU that they found surveillance video showing the girl was with a family friend.

Police said there was no indication of foul play.
