Whether you love it or hate it, there's more rain on the way
PORTLAND, Ore. - Our stretch of over 100 days of blue skies and warm temperatures are now over and the weekend is shaping up to be a soggy one.
Friday was the wettest day in Portland in 113 days, according to KATU Meteorologist Dave Salesky. He also said the high temperature of 54 degrees on Friday was the coldest it's been here in the city since May 4.
The forecast for the weekend is a wet one - morning showers on Saturday and then a stronger storm will move in on Sunday packing a double punch of rain and gusty winds.
The rain will continue through early next week before we dry out again.
You mean the people of Portland don't get to vote on whether it should rain or not? Shocking! What if the rain contains fluoride?
It rains every year around this time. What's REALLY fun is when we get a few flakes of snow in town and people go NUTS! {The sky is falling! The sky is falling!}

Always a fun time to be an observer. LOL!
I'll take it! I live in Oregon for 3 reasons: mild climate, the abundance of greenery due to that climate, and I'm a native. :) Seriously, people who complain about the rain here really need to move. They either have lived here long enough to stop whining or knew what they were getting into when they moved here. There are other states in the US that don't have the rain like we do. Deal with or move to one of those states. Because of the rain we have, we very rarely have droughts and have natural plants and trees that provide not only add beauty but also much needed oxygen. Soooo, if you need to whine about the rain...stop breathing the air it helps to create.
Yes I'm sure glad we have the natural plants and trees too. Other states don't have nearly as much natural trees as we do. And the oxygen levels in oregon is higher than in other states due to the rain kymberlie. LOL, these reasons sound like they're coming from a kindergardner's essay on Oregon.
@Kymberlie2873 I agree. Funny thing is, most native Oregon folk run for cover every time it rains. I moved up here in '72 and fell in love with the fresh air. My wife who was born here in '55 thinks I am crazy because at the end of evey summer when the first real rain comes I stand out in it laughing my ass off. Oh, wait; I am crazy!
My only complaint about my apartment is the screeching kids playing outside.I'm hoping that the rain will force them inside.At least my fingers are crossed.
 @noneofyourbizzness I'm hoping it gets rid of those guys banging on plastic buckets on street corners. They're about as talented as pile drivers.
@Mikey @noneofyourbizzness True.Hopefully I can park my car downtown without being harrased.
Adios loud people with loud music over my back fence! Enjoy your horrible parent meetings.
I'll take it!
YUP, it is only water...hmm that can..if in large amounts...Cause floods, Icy roads, snow, ice rinks, and a plusher of other cool and interesting things.
It's only water. It'll dry. Next july
