PORTLAND, Ore. – The owners of a cat that went on a rampage after being kicked by the owner's boyfriend for scratching the baby have given her to the county animal shelter.

But the owners of the 22-pound Himalayan, named Lux, may ask to get their ferocious feline back.

Last week the owners called 911 after the cat became so crazed that they had to hide in the bedroom and wait for help from police to arrive.

While Multnomah County Animal Services confirmed it picked up the cat this morning, the owner told KATU Monday afternoon "We are getting him back."

They are scheduled to do a shoot for the Animal Planet show, "My Cat from Hell," next week.

Mike Oswald, with Multnomah County Animal Services, said the owners are welcome to come and pick up the cat.

"People sometimes change their minds, and we respect that," he said.
