Rescue crews find lost hiker in Columbia Gorge

PORTLAND, Ore. — A Multnomah County sheriff's spokesman says a hiker who reported she was lost near Yeon State Park in the Columbia Gorge has been found.

Lt. Steve Alexander said the 20-year-old Keizer woman was in good condition and was being escorted to safety late Thursday night.

She called 911 about 5 p.m. Thursday, saying she set out on a hike to Munra Point from the state park trailhead and hiked several miles but became lost.

Three search and rescue crews also set out to look for her at about 9 p.m.

Alexander says temperatures are in the upper 30s and strong winds have been blowing through the gorge.
