PORTLAND, Ore. - Four men were able to get out safely when a wall of flames surrounded their home early Friday morning.
The fire happened around 4 a.m. at a home off Southeast 87th and Brooklyn.
One man living in the home said he was asleep and woke up when someone started yelling 'fire!' He said his roommates tried to pour water on the flames but they had to make a mad dash out the door.
He told us he believes the fire started outside the home where they had some wood tables and newspapers. Fire investigators agreed - saying the fire started on the back porch and quickly spread into the home, into the walls and straight up into the attic.
The damage is estimated at around $60,000.
