SUV crashes through plane hangar near PDX
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Two people were injured in a wreck that ended with an SUV crashing through the wall of an empty hangar near Portland International Airport Monday morning.
Emergency crews from the Port of Portland responded to the crash in the 7900 block of Northeast Airport Way around 11 a.m.
According to a Port of Portland police report, a 53-year-old man driving a 2014 Dodge Journey crashed into the back of a 2012 Toyota Corolla with a 50-year-old woman behind the wheel.
The two were both going westbound on Airport Way at the time of the wreck.
After the impact, the white Dodge continued on through a fence and eventually slammed partially through a side wall of an empty airplane hangar.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It’s unclear what caused the crash and neither driver was ticketed.
Port police said the investigation was ongoing.
