Man at center of SWAT incident still sought by police

CAMAS, Wash. - An arrest was made during a SWAT situation in Camas but police said the person wasn't the man they were looking for.

Police showed up at a home on Brady and 12th Loop around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

A SWAT team was called to the scene as well and they tried using a megaphone to get a man, who has a warrant out for his arrest, out of the house.

They were unsuccessful in their attempt and they are still looking for him. He has been identified as 22-year-old Husam Al-Ani. A photo has not yet been released.

Al-Ani is wanted on felony warrants out of Clark County for failure to appear, felon in possession of a weapon and drug charges. He is also an undocumented alien.

Police said some folks in Camas had called the police department worried about Al-Ani being on the loose. Police said Saturday they do not consider him a threat to public safety and they believe he has left the area.

Another man, 24-year-old Curtis Schmit, was arrested at the scene on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.
