Salem students suspended for teacher tweets

SALEM, Ore. — The principal of McKay High School in Salem says more students may be disciplined for retweeting a Twitter post about a teacher's alleged relationship with students.

About 20 students were suspended last week for violating school policy against cyberbullying.

Principal Sara LeRoy wouldn't discuss details of the tweet but described it to the Statesman Journal as a disparaging remark about a staff member.

The tweet was posted in February by an account called Salem Confessions. It claimed that a female teacher flirts with her students, according to a report in the Statesman Journal.
