UPDATE: Search crews found Vernon Ray in a small ravine near Dodge Park. He appeared to be unharmed, but he was taken to a hospital for a checkup.

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. – The Clackamas County Search and Rescue team is looking for a 55-year-old man who suffers from dementia and walked away from his campsite at Dodge Park early Monday morning.

Vernon “Keith” Ray walked away around 1:30 a.m. and has not been seen since. Ray suffers from several medical issues, including dementia.

Ray has a memory span of about 5 minutes and cannot talk, according to the sheriff’s office, but he may respond to the name “Keith” if called out to.

Rescuers are looking for Ray on land and in waterways around the area.

Ray is described as 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds. He has brown hair, hazel eyes and is clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing a blue flannel shirt, black Dickie brand shorts, black sandals and a black baseball cap.

Anyone who sees Ray is asked to call 911.
