VANCOUVER, Wash. – A second man who was a passenger during a fatal crash in Vancouver Sunday night has died, police said.

Benjamin F. Folk, 25, and Jesse E. Orellano-Leister, 20, died after the crash. Orellano-Leister died at the scene and police were notified on Tuesday that Folk died of his injuries.

The crash happened at 101 SE Columbia Way around 8:40 p.m., police said. A Ford Mustang left the roadway and hit a power pole and transformer box.

The driver, 20-year-old Ian J. Cole, told police he was speeding and on drugs at the time of the crash, court documents said.

Cole ran away from the scene after the crash and called the fiance of Folk, who called police, court documents said.

Officers took Cole into custody a short time later, according to police spokeswoman Kim Kapp. He was not seriously injured.

Cole told police "I ran, I freaked" when he saw Folk unresponsive in the car, court documents said. He also said that prior to the crash he was speeding and passing cars illegally "like a dumb ass", according to court documents.

Cole faces charges including DUI, vehicular homicide and hit-and-run.

A fourth person in the car, 19-year-old Maxwell K. Borders, was treated and released from the hospital.
