Sheriff's deputies reach into their pockets to save Christmas

Sheriff's deputies in Marion County did their best to save Christmas for a family.

The deputies had responded to a domestic violence call earleir this week and discovered the man they arrested had also stolen cash intended for a Christmas gift for their child.

The deputies took up a collection and went to Toys R Us where employees helped them find items on sale so they could stretch their money even further.

In the end, they were able to purchase $250 worth of toys and other items for $146.

On Friday, they presented the gifts to a surprised and grateful family.
