U.S. Highway 26 is closed in both directions at milepost 26 for several hours after several weather-related crashes in the Coast Range, according to the state department of transportation.

ODOT hopes to have the highway open again by 7 p.m. Sunday.

ODOT issued chain requirements for the Coast Range passes on both U.S. Highway 26 and OR 6.

Many other cars have slipped off the road in the wintry conditions on both highways.

Sunday morning 2 people suffered minor injuries when their car collided with an ODOT snow plow on Highway 26 west of Manning. State police said a Dodge Charger slid across the road and crashed into the front scoop of the plow.

Police said the plow driver was not hurt. The two people in the car suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
