TIGARD, Ore. - A man who barricaded himself in an outbuilding outside his home after police showed up with a search warrant was taken into custody hours later.
The incident began around 11:30 a.m. Friday and was centered at a home in the 10300 block of Southwest 69th Avenue in Tigard.
Negotiators were at the scene trying to get the man to come out peacefully and around 5:45 p.m. police were able to take him into custody without incident.
Police said 45-year-old Paul Arnsberg was wanted for attempted murder after a domestic violence incident.
They said they arrested Arnsberg and he was taken to the Washington County Jail.
It would be nice if he'd done a George Carlin bit "A man has barricaded himself in his house, since they know he has no weapon, the police aren't paying attention to him"
@disgustedman You know I was just thinking yesterday when I was reading some of the rediculous rants people were having on here how much fun it would be to read what George would have to say to them. RIP Mr Carlin.
didn't police see the no trespassing sign?
He looks just like Jerry Brudos. Creepy. Give him a psych evaluation and don't let him out again.

@badcat Jerry Brudos died a happy man being able to play with computers until he died. Kitz would like that.
@badcat Ooooo... ick, you're so right.

I hate it when cops show up before the party
A warrant for domestic violence was to be issued. Well, guess this proves the more "guilty" part of the situation.Â
Glad this worked out !
This is right where I work and I had no idea at all this was going on. Freaky
@Freckled_Girl Wow! Someone working at work and not on here reading the news. That's refreshing
I'd like to send a pizza to this house.

@Fruity Pebbles   I dont go to save money on a hot dog and pop...I go to buy the package of hot dogs to save money, and I'm hungry, so I eat dinner while I'm there. What other place anywhere can you get a fairly filling (albeit unhealthy) meal for $1.50. My wife and I went out to dinner (not fancy) last night, cost over $30 bucks, and I wasn't any more full than with the hot dog...and as someone else said...Costco hot dogs are great!
@Fruity Pebbles Costco dogs are great.
@Fruity Pebbles Why do people buy hot dogs & sugar water in the first place?
I grew up watching Dragnet; why can't they just walk up quietly, tap the guy on the shoulder and say "I have a 38 in your back and an arrest warrant in my pocket." The cops seem to start with helicopters, ski masks, full auto weapons, etc. I miss the old days.
@PeterAWolf You ever watch them now? They are on Netflix. There is one episode with OJ in it. And if watch a few you will see the same stuff as now. Sad nothing gets better.I also recommend The Rocky and Bullwinkle show for insights into politics
@tally Bummer, I don't have nexflix, are they on Hulu? Its almost like Alice's Restaurant where the cops had a lot of "cop stuff" and gosh darn-it they're gonna use it.
@badcat @PeterAWolf The one about recruiting black recruits has oj in it
@PeterAWolf They're on Comcast channel 304 ("Antenna TV") every day at noon and 12:30 (Adam-12 at 11am). My husband loves them and records it. His favorite is "Blue Boy" the LSD freak. Great program.
@PeterAWolf @tally They might be. One thanksgiving with no plans my wife, son and I went to our bar for their thanksgiving feed. As a family tradition I played Alice's Restaurant on the jukebox. The song was going on on and one guy started complaining. I informed him that this is the only Thanksgiving Carol that I know and for 2 credits it has to be the best buy on the jukebox. He bought me a yager. The only one I ever had except Nyquil.
i guess he don't want to be searched...
This is only a search warrant execution, not an arrest warrant service. Bottom line, they'll get in anyway to search for whatever is specified on the search warrant. Now they'll also get to arrest the one inside barricaded. Great plan, guy!
oh no did he post on katu?
We are due for a he was not there story. Got to pad the OT
lost another dollar to polly
The cops are turning EVERYTHING into a military SWAT Operation....NO ONE IS SAFE IN THE USA!
@August100Â No one is safe is correct. Out here in the wild wild southeast you have guns and cars to kill you. The police down the list.
@August100Â It has to be fun
@August100Â Keep telling yourself that August....now go take your meds. Â Plus, to Peter and Pebbles..shame on you for giving a like to this pathetic comment.
@PD1202 I had a feeling you were the tattle-tell & snitch type....after you got wooped!
@August100Â @PD1202Â Wow Troll...you are making a lot of sense right now. Â Maybe you and Pebbles should get together and make a move to another forum...since you bring nothing to the conversation and never stay on topic here.
@August100
Actually this came about because the guy is an armed nut.Â
Here is what happened (since KATU is unable to give actual information). This guy was charged with beating up someone. When the WCSO came to tell him "Hey D-bag you're going to have to go to court about beating up that person" he threatened the officer with a weapon, informed him he was heavily armed and if he came closer he was going to use that force.Â
So the WCSO wisely chose to not confront a known violent man who is known to be heavily armed and threatening him by himself.Â
That's why TNT was called, because a person who is known to be violent threatened violence when he was going to have to go to court because he likes to hurt people.Â
So yeah the police are the ones responsible for this escalating. Maybe you want to go talk to the nutjob and see if he will take his arrest nicely unarmed?
Didn't think so tough guy.Â
ÂHey dirt bag hurry up in there and either put a round in your melon or surrender to the man.... You're costing the good taxpayers money and wasting the man's time... now pass me the popcorn!
Bring in the dogs!
How about a drone?
Isn't this why they ought to have waited until he was in front of the residence to serve the warrant?
