State troopers arrest pantsless driver accused of ramming school bus
State police arrested Jonathan Modesitt on Tuesday.

CRESWELL, Ore. -- A freeway, a school bus, a car in a creek, and a man without pants.

Those are the elements that Oregon State Police say made up a wild chase in Lane County on Tuesday.

Troopers said Jonathan Modesitt, 38, intentionally rammed a school bus, then dropped his pants and tried to climb on board while armed with a gun.

There were no kids on the bus. The driver closed the bus's door to keep the man from boarding.

When officers arrived, he hopped back into his car and sped off. He later drove off the road, plowed through a fence and landed in a creek.

Modesitt got out of his car and came to shore, where troopers arrested him. He faces DUII, hit-and-run, and gun charges. Troopers are still trying to figure out why he was ramming the bus.
