VANCOUVER, Wash. – Police arrested a woman in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a Vancouver man last year.

Jessica B. Van Wechel, 30, was arrested in Camas, Wash. on Wednesday, according to Vancouver Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

The crash occurred on Oct. 28, 2013 at Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard and 105th Avenue in Vancouver. Stephen D. Dewey, 65, was seriously injured when a vehicle hit him while he was crossing the street. He was using a walker at the time.

Dewey died at the hospital.

Vancouver police developed probable cause that Van Wechel was the suspect in the hit-and-run and notified Camas police, Kapp said.

Police arrested Van Wechel and took her to the Clark County Jail. She faces charges of hit-and-run (injury or fatality) and driving with a suspended license.

No additional details were immediately released.
