Suspects on the loose after car chase and crash

MULINO, Ore. - Police are on the lookout for a driver and his passenger after they led police on a car chase, crashed down an embankment and then took off on foot.
Here's an account of what happened from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office:
On July 29, 2012, just after 6:34 a.m., on Hwy 213 near S Eldorado Road, a Clackamas County Sheriffs Office deputy on his way to work saw a Kia Sorrento driving erratically and tried to stop the car to investigate.
The suspect driver immediately drove off and the deputy followed.
The suspect drove down several roads in the Mulino area attempting to lose the deputy.
At one point the suspect driver slowed down as if to stop and then put the car in reverse, attempting to ram the deputy's car.
The deputy saw the attempt and was able to minimize the damage to his car through quick thinking and an evasive maneuver.
The pursuit continued until about 6:47 a.m. when the suspect crashed his car down a 30-40 foot embankment in the 25000 block of S Pike Road and fled on foot.
A CCSO K9 deputy and handler were called to the scene but were unsuccessful in their attempt to locate the suspect(s). Molalla Police Department officers and an Oregon State trooper also assisted in the search.
The deputies were able to determine the Kia Sorrento was reported stolen out of Salem on July 27, 2012. The car had license plates that were stolen off of another Kia Sorrento in Salem. The car had evidence inside that suggested the occupant(s) had been committing burglaries. The car is being seized as evidence and will be processed at our CSI facility.
The only description we have of the suspect is an adult male with a stocky build. Evidence suggests there was a passenger in the car as well. The suspect(s) are being sought for questioning related to the Attempt to Elude-Felony, Attempted Assault on a Police Officer-Felony, and Burglary I.
There were no reported injuries or property damage aside from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office car.

Good luck, the suspects won't be found until the commit a crime. But as the idiots they are, they will be caught sometime.
Maybe they had an American flag on them.Â
Keep crap like this in jail and they will not be out stealing cars and burglarizing homes
I am a bit confused here; was the cop on duty yet, or not?
Was he in his personal vehicle, or an officially marked cruiser?
The article says, "...a Clackamas County Sheriffs Office deputy on his way to work saw a Kia Sorrento driving erratically and tried to stop the car to investigate."
Â
I'm glad that the cop was sharp-eyed enough to investigate, but if he was in his personal vehicle, nobody should be surprised that the suspects didn't pull over.
I wouldn't. That's how all sorts of bad stuff happens.
@Don_Keyshow Officer is lucky to, but I do suppose that some officers are allowed to take there police units home. I have witnessed on several occasions this to be the norm. In case of emergencies they can react fast in times of real need.
Cars stolen out of salem? Nooooo...That is such a model community.
Â
Like I have always said...if we didn't have salem, gresham, and vancouver our news would be like 15minutes long and we wouldnt need a 5,6,8,10,11 o'clocknews program on some of the channels
@Duvie23 Indeed. All we would have is the gang shootings in north and northeast Portland and the assaults by and on homeless in downtown.
@Nobody OK then that leaves them 5 minutes to get the weather wrong, and to tell us how much the timbers and blazers disappoint us...
I hate thieves. I hope the cops eff these guys up.
