WEST LINN, Ore. – West Linn police on Tuesday arrested a man and a woman on drug charges after officers discovered the pair allegedly had ecstasy pills and psilocybin mushrooms during a traffic stop.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Gordon Filemu Cady of Portland and 18-year-old Marin Kathryn Vesley of Laguna Niguel, Calif. on two charges each of possession and distribution of a controlled substance.

The incident started when a West Linn police officer stopped a vehicle with a broken tail light and expired registration, police said.

During the traffic stop, police found Cady and Vesley had more than 1 ½ pounds of mushrooms and 67 capsules of MDMA, also known as ecstasy. The pair also had more than $1,600 in cash that police believe came from a drug deal.

Officers took Cady and Vesley to the Clackamas County Jail on $125,000 bail.
