PORTLAND, Ore. – A truck hauling containers of sulfuric acid snarled traffic on Highway 26 on Saturday when one of the containers began to leak.
The truck stopped near the Barnes Road exit where a hazardous materials team set up a safety zone
The trailer contained approximately 600 gallons of sulfuric acid, according to Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue. Crews worked to contain the acid within the trailer and clean storm drains and runoff areas.
No one was hurt.
The highway was briefly closed in both directions Saturday afternoon. The closure also affected TriMet MAX lines.
