OSP troopers track down man wanted for sex crimes

CLATSOP COUNTY, Ore. - Two Oregon State Police troopers arrested a man wanted on multiple sex crimes charges last Friday after he was tracking him down in a rural area of Clatsop County.
Oregon State Police said Casey James Wood, 28, was taken into custody after OSP Fish & Wildlife Division Troopers Dave Herman and Joesph Warwick responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle on Burn Road near Birkenfeld.
Troopers found an unoccupied van stuck in the mud and then followed a bicycle track three miles to the end of a trail. After searching for an hour, the troopers were able to locate Wood, whom deputies said was "uncooperative" and hiding in some thick brush.
OSP said Wood initially gave troopers a fake name and claimed he was wanted for a traffic ticket.
Wood eventually revealed his real identity and troopers found out he was wanted out of Grant County on rape, sodomy and sex abuse charges.
The sheriff's office said Wood was "agitated" when captured and is being held in the Clatsop County Jail.
A court date is pending.

Hopefully he got to ride to jail in the back of a cruizer, handcuffed and next to a pissed off K9.
Good catch! Too bad it wasn't a thicket of poison oak he hid in!

WOO HOO
Do you really want to be âuncooperativeâ and âagitatedâ after making two officers follow a bicycle trail for three miles, search for you for an hour, and then you lie to them? Spare them the agitation, because I'm sure they wanted to get all kinds of agitated on you.
A sex offender.... with a van.... *gasp*
A guy named Wood is caught in the bush and hauled in for sex crimes. Â Seems fitting to me.
