Tualatin police search for knife-wielding robbery suspect

TUALATIN, Ore. – Tualatin police are searching for a man who robbed a tanning salon at knifepoint Monday night.

According to police, the man threatened an employee at Palm Beach Tan on SW Hazelfern Road in Tualatin with a knife and demanded money from the register. The victim told police the knife was four inches long and had an orange handle.

Police say the man got away with nearly $300.

Witnesses also told police about a second man waiting outside the store. They said he also ran away with the first suspect. Police searched the area but did not find any suspects.

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties with a scruffy beard, wearing a dark colored puffy jacket, jeans, black Converse shoes, and a dark colored baseball style cap. The man wore the cap backwards with a white bandanna just under the cap. The baseball cap had a Gothic style "E" embroidered on the front.

The suspect was also described as having noticeable bruising on the left side of his jaw, supporting it with his hand and mumbling as he spoke, as though he had an injury.
