The Dalles, Ore.—Two people in a stolen car were arrested after a high-speed chase on I-84 that stretched from east Multnomah County to The Dalles.

Thursday morning at 9:49 a.m., the call went out that a car stolen from Gresham was speeding down the interstate heading east.

Officers and deputies from several agencies joined in a chase, using spike strips to pop the right front tire on the white Subaru Legacy near Hood River.

Police say the car kept speeding, despite the flat tire, up to 100 mph at times until another set of spike strips popped several tires.

The suspects were arrested at gunpoint.

Investigators say Patricia Marie Motley, 30 of Gresham, was behind the wheel. She’s a wanted felon out of Clackamas and Multnomah counties on drug and theft charges. She’s now charged with the chase and possession of methamphetamine.

Riding with her was Aaron Joseph Smith, 28, from California. He had warrants for drugs, ID theft, and driving crimes.

They are both being held in jail in The Dalles.
