Vancouver police searching for car that hit man using walker

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Police say the driver of a car left the scene of a crash Monday night that left a 65-year-old man seriously injured.

At about 7 p.m. police say the man, who was using a walker, was hit in the crosswalk when he was crossing Mill Plain Boulevard at 105th Avenue.

Witnesses told police the car was a gray sedan and possibly an import. It is likely the car will have right front-end damage.

The man, later identified as 65-year-old Stephen D. Dewey of Vancouver, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police say. As of Oct. 30, he remained hospitalized.
