Wash. PTA opposes NRA's call for armed school guards

When I was younger, I never once saw a police officer and felt any sort of fear. This PTA is clearly chock-full of Liberals who would rather everyone play dress-up or "pin-the-pen1s-on-the-tranny" than consider actual options. They probably think gun-control works, or something equally as insane. 

Many schools already have a local police officer assigned to them. Curious what the PTA has to say about that? I will also be curious how the PTA will justify their stand should a mentally disturbed killer massacre another classroom full of babies.  

Just arm everyone and we will revert back to the wild west. To much foam in your latte? Shoot em! That guy is looking at me funny. Shoot em! Look at the price of gas! Shoot em! YEEEE HAWWWW Gotta fight guns with more guns! Maybe toddlers should pack too, keep it hidden in the baby carriage just in case..

Lets look at the facts, clearly the no guns allowed on any school grounds or campuses were only written documents and not posted in plane sight. If we post more signs saying that guns are not allowed then and only then will we be able to stop gun violence.

In those parts of Arizona where open-carry is legal, folks are very polite and the crime rate is very low.  The open

display of a weapon, especially by law enforcement, would definetely be a deterent to a most mass-shooters, because they are really cowards at heart (as well as insane). As such, I would support openly-armed guards at public schools.

The D.A.R.E officer in our elementary school carried a gun. I don't think that made any of us feel unsafe. Do you see any kids cowering in fear when they see a police officer walking down the streets?

 

When these shootings happen, we send police officers. Doesn't it make sense to already have a police officer there?

You have a reponsibility to protect the children. Doing nothing and pretending they are not in harms way certainly will not protect them. If the killer can't find a gun and he is driven to kill he will find another way.  The person with the gun in the school to protect the children does not have to wear an uniform or show a gun.Don't live in la-la land and make it where people have to try and protect themsleves by saying "Please don't shoot" and believe they won't. Times are different deal with it.

Any injuries or fatalities to children in schools are now 100% on the PTA.

They can oppose it all they want, but if it comes to protecting our schools and our selves, I am all for the armed guards, face it were in a time unprecedented . These acts of violence that happen are happening more, not because an AR 15 killed some one, but because some one had to pull the trigger, You know I have something to say to you that oppese guns .

You are so hell bent on taking soemthing away from people that gives them the God Given right to protect them selves, there familly and there loved ones and you jsut want to take it away, guns aren't the problem, it is  people in sick the head, Sick in there hearts and sick in there souls that do this kind of thing.

 

All you do by banning guns is make it easier for crimes to happen. Just Ask the Australians.

And further of all you need to educate you self on the constitution of the United States.

You can ban all the guns you want. But some one will still find a way to do mass killings. You are foolish to think of you can stop it.

 

Iam probably preaching to the choir, but all you wanting to ban hand guns are nuts. How in Hell can you think that a freaking object that has to have force exerted on it to operate be at fault?

 

Oh but in your minds its the gun, its the gun.. Please that thinking is flawed seriously..

All you will do by taking guns away is cause a rise in crime.. Hell You there in Portland Oregon, How many robberies have you had? How many stabbings? You think fewer guns is going to help.. Yeah keep thinking that..and when some one sticks a knife in you or points a gun in your direction and says your dead . What you going to do, Pull out your cell phone and say wait a minute, I want to call 911 first...NO they is going to shoot you dead.

Then there will be one less anti gun person.

Look We need to use Common Sense I agree on that, but you start stepping on the constitution and you going to have a lot of angry people.

Our ancestors left Europe because of Oppression and wanted a better lives Now you want to make this country just like Brittan? That disgusts me.

Seems to me that the children would feel safer knowing that they are not sitting ducks without defense. I think the teachers should be allowed to have CCW permits.... It should be broadcasted across the nation that all schools will be allowing the administrators and teachers to be armed as a defense against this type of act... The children would indeed be safer, if the gunmen could be neutralized before taking out so many.... the "gun free" zones are not working... they are creating the problem. The evil, sick minded will always find a way to get guns... even if they are banned... Then it will get even worse. Just my opinion...

Liberals will keep bending over forever. Not everyone believes in people like they do! They will never ever understand that "peaceful" resolutions just don't ever work! Sure glad I don't have any kids in school any more!

Funny how they oppose this yet many school in Washington have just that. Prairie High School that I went to since 98-2002 when I was there had a Clark County Sheriff Officer assigned to our school and was there a lot... and.. oh wait for it.. he was armed! Funny cause nothing extreme ever went down there except a fight or two.. or a drug bust or two. Other then that... mellow safe place to be. 

Until this country quits living in the past, things will continue to get worse.  We can't roll back the clock to a much safer time, such as the 1950's through the 1970's, so we better admit this isn't a friendly world anymore.  As far as the costs of armed guards, what would be wrong with using the National Guard?  That would be a much better use of their services than using them in Afghanistan where they are barely accomplishing little if anything.  I can understand the anti-gun dumbos.  They don't like living in a free country so let's end it by surrendering the only thing that has kept us free for over two hundred years.  OUR GUNS!  If you don't like that idea, get out of this country and stay out.  Try North Korea.  It will be more to your liking.   

 

Did they really cite a convicted felon, who was sentenced to 108yrs in jail, as their example of why guns are bad? Don't they know that the law says that Maurice Clemmons couldn't have a gun?

Most schools already have security guards. To give them a gun would be better. They do make rubber bullets that do not kill people but have a similiar effect a bullet would.  It would not bother me one bit to send my child to a school where someone is able to defend them in case a nutjob decides to go crazy. I think that the PTA is crazy for not thinking the same.

@ MarkKpic Having an Officer with a gun in a holster would mean that he could pull that gun and shoot a shooter...that is pretty clear. By the time the first responders arrive the victims are already dead. Criminals love Gun Free Zones. I was talking to a school official today who had 3 weeks ago been to a school security training and he said the only thing to do is have certain employees carry concealed. I sure would rather have someone with a gun protecting my child than that poor principle who tried to stop the shooter unarmed.
