Where's Kyron? Boy missing since 2010 would now be 10 years old

PACIFIC, Wash. (AP) — It's been nearly three years since Kyron Horman disappeared from a Portland school where his stepmother says she dropped him off.
An age-progression photo to show what he would look like now has been released in a poster from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The poster will get added publicity by being displayed on the Gordon Trucking fleet of trucks in Washington and Oregon.
Kyron's father, Kaine Horman, was at an event Monday at the trucking company yard in Pacific where the Washington State Patrol highlighted the latest addition to the Homeward Bound Program.
For Kaine, the photo is hard to process. Not having had the chance to watch his son grow, it's painful for him to imagine the boy nearly three years older.
"I have lots of friends who have kids about his age, and (I've been) watching them grow through the years and just trying to imagine what he's (Kyron is) like now," he said.
No arrests have been made in Kyron's disappearance.
His mother, Desiree Young, is suing the stepmother, Terri Horman, seeking a court order to force her to say what happened to him.
Among the supporters of the missing boy's parents is Melissa Baum, whose own daughter, Lindsey Baum, has been missing since June 2009. Lindsey's image is also featured on trucks traveling the country.
"Let's hope that it's going to help bring them home," said Melissa Baum, "that the trucks are going to be seen by someone out there who's seen one of them."
Melissa's support has proven comforting to Kyron's parents.
"I think it gives you that sense of community that you're not alone," said Kaine. "There are other people who are going through it as well, and that's helpful. We're all hopeful."
For his son, Kaine had a message: "We're doing everything we can to find where you are. Keep positive thoughts. We'll keep doing everything from our end to get this resolved and bring you home.
"We love you. We miss you."
This is weird beyond words. Was this boy murdered? Why no trace? Why no answers?Â
Actually my question is not "where is Kyron?", my question from day one is "Why is Terry so quiet and why is that she is not engaged herself with helping to find her son, Kyron????" So Weird beyond words.
@JUSTICE2013 Empathy is a term few understand when dealing with Terry. To be able to place one's self in her shoes might answer your questions.Â
Â
Lets say your step son came up missing, days later your partner(wife or husband) lets telling media that you hired some one to kill you, the next day your were locked out of your home, days later your baby was taken from you due to your partner's claims...Lets say your spouse got in front of the cameras, media, reporters every chance he/she got to point fingers at you...Now being aware the until states is now believing YOU did it, YOU are guilty in every persons eyes, you have been tried and hung....added that her lawyer has instructed her not to talk with anyone about this...   being an emphatic person with insights to how Terry must be feeling, ask yourself if you would be hitting the streets running your lips screaming I DIDN'T DO IT.....would you not fear being stoned to death, after all, every one knows you did do it........
Â
Maybe now you can understand why Terry can't talk....her husband has painted her as guilty and he has done so since day one. There has been no facts reported from policy or FBI, all so called information we hear about Terry, comes from one source only, Kyron's father.Â
@Tyler Van Pelt @JUSTICE2013
As a parent of two boys, I will never ever never understand why Terry decided to remain mute, NEVER WILL UNDERSTAND. Look, God forbid if it was your child who is missing, what is your first reaction as a parent???? To hire an attorney to defend yourself or to start searching for your child? Assuming Terry considers herself as a parent of Kyron, since she has raised him since young age.
That's what I've been continuing to ask:Â Where's Kyron?
Â
WHERE'S KYRON? in big letters, should be at the top of each of the local
TV station's websites every day. On the side of buses. On grocery bags.
On milk cartons, until he is found, one way or the other.
OK, I'm reaching my foot over as I hope I don't touch the dreaded third rail with this, but has anyone ever answered why Desiree didn't have custody of her son? Â I have 3 children, and I can't think of any scenario where I'd relinquish custody. Â I don't need a lecture about how this is all Terri's fault, whatever, I'm just curious about why he was living with the dad and stepmom. Â
@Sundowner ~  If I remember correctly, Desiree, at one time, had a serious medical problem, and she went to Canada for surgery (kidneys or something like that)... She relinquished custody of Kyron to Kaine at that time.  I don't recall that there were any other reasons given... just that it had to do with her medical issues then...I imagine that she did what she felt were in Kyron's best interests at the time...Â
In re Terri, she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law...and that hasn't happened yet.
@margay1 Thanks for the info.  In one form or another I've been saying the "innocent until proven guilty" thing all day......and got my hand slapped repeatedly.  But now I'm accused of being somehow related to Terri or actually being Terri.  I'm glad nobody knows where I live or they'd be outside my fence with the pitchforks just in case I'm Terri.  This stuff makes me shake my head in disbelief. Â
@Sundowner ~  I know... it's hard to remember that sometimes, because people want so much to know what happened, to find out who was responsible for it, and to hold that person to answer for it...  In Kyron's case, though, we don't even know for sure what happened to him...let alone who was responsible...  If I was the DA, I wouldn't take Terri to trial yet, either, because the DA only gets one shot at it... If they try Terri (or anyone else, for that matter), and lose, the game's over insofar as that defendant is concerned...so when you go to trial, you'd best be sure you can prove your case "beyond a reasonable doubt". Â
I think eventually, they will find out what happened to Kyron... but in the meantime,. it's a terrible thing for Kyron's bio-parents...Â
Anyone that still believes this kid is still alive needs to look at the whole picture of this tragedy and not believe that Mary Poppins is a real person even though you saw it on TV. Good Lord, this poor child washed down The Columbia River in pieces never to be heard from again. Yea, I cannot wait for the naysayers on this comment after arguing with the FBOne and being a retired deputy...
@boned ~ Jaycee Dugard was found after, what... 18 YEARS..?   Anything in this world is possible, even if not highly probable...Â
If the boy is still alive as his parents are hoping, then a lot of people will owe Terri an apology. There will be a lot of crow to eat and it won't taste very good.
@Shadow Don't tell that to Taur or she/he will be convinced that you're just like me, Terri herself or Terri's family or Terri's friend.  I figure if it's ever found she played no part in his disappearance, there will need to be gigantic horse troughs set up for the crow/humble pie banquets.Â
The age-progressed photo is a little...optimistic. My age-progressed photo would look very different, because I'm thinking he's been dead and buried since the day he disappeared.
The DA's office will never bring to trial anyone if they don't have a body. They could loose and then they couldn't have another trial. So they sit on their thumbs. This case is so cold it has frost bite.
Drop it !
At least Terri has had her own child taken away from her. Her child isn't missing or not with us anymore but she's also not with Terri. I wonder if Terri even considered that she would lose her own child over what she did? she doesn't deserve to ever see that little girl again. Desiree will never get to see Kyron again or know what he will look like when he grows up so why should Terri get to see her child?
@Taur Your living in a dream world taur if you think thats gonna happen.
@Taur I don't know a single fact about Terri's child being taken away because I really haven't followed this story like the KyronZealots have.  But do tell, why should she get to see her own child again?  Well, for one thing she hasn't been convicted of a crime and it's her biological child.  I say that because I'm Terri.....or Terri's family member......or Terri's friend.  Isn't that what you said down below about me?  I think my eyes have officially rolled out of my head with you. Â
@Sundowner @Taur You need to do a lot of reading Sundowner. Terri Horman attempted to have Kaine killed in a murder for hire deal, repeatedly lied to the police, and made other verbal threats. Judges loathe taking a child away from a biological parent but the court did not hesitate in this case. Portions of the records are sealed because they could compromise the integrity of the investigation or future indictments. Do a little research before spouting off. Education is a beautiful thing.
@Sundowner  @I812 Who cares at this date what they have. They can't give her death just life in prison and as a parent i DON'T FEEL SENDING TERRI TO PRISON OUT WEIGHTS BRINGING THE KID  HOME.
@I812 You're right.  I'm going to take your advice and read the "portions of the records are sealed" stuff and get back to you.  You know -- the stuff that matters.  Sealed doesn't mean no one can see it, does it?  Because that would make my research project difficult at best.  Although NOT reading them has certainly improved your knowledge base. Â
They should just give Terri Immunity from all  prosecution solely to find out what happened to the kid.As a parent thats how I would do it after all this time of almost 3 yrs.If she did do it  she will pay bigtime for the rest of her life even without jail but the most important reason why is to bring him home one way or another.Terri would go to jail for life if they prove she did it which me 3 meals a day and life of prison which if you really want your kid back I could care less at this point if she goes to jail or not as i just would want my kid home.3 years is enough, give her Immunity and bring him home as with immunity I believe a judge can Force to to talk but not sure so if someone knows fill me in.....
@riderofthelegend - you make a lot of sense. I completely understand what you are saying. Although it would be nice for Terri to pay for what we all know she did - at this point; it's more important to bring him home. You make total sense. Btw - I raised my stepson his entire life and I would have gave my life for him - still would. THAT is how a stepmother is suppose to do! Terri gives all us stepmother's a bad name.
@Taur  @riderofthelegend All you stepmoms need not worry about Terri anymore than us redheads need concern ourselves about her.  Be a good stepmom, and your own  good reputation is enough.
@Taur  @riderofthelegend I think they should just tell her she would get immunity, and after she confesses, tell her they were just fibbing about giving her immunity. If they really wanted to do it right, they'd get Ashton Kutcher to pop out and tell her she's been punk'd.
Ask creepy daddy.
Terry.
I remember how freaked out I was after losing sight of my four year old in a crowd years ago. That only lasted less than a minute before I spotted him, I couldn't  imagine going through something like this as a parent.Â
I can only hope he is well fed and happy as the picture portrays him to be. Must be very agonizing for the parents to be waiting this out.
We all know who was involved with this, that is why she hired some high powered attorney she somewhow affords with no job and has kept her mouth shut about the whole thing! that obviously speaks volumes about someone who is unwilling to cooperate in finding this young boy and clear their own name!! i hope something evil happens to this woman. she doeesn't even give a damn about her own daughter either! worthless human
@JRE - I know we all know she did it or at least was involved and knows what happen but do you, or anyone else, know WHY she did what she did? Has that ever become public knowledge? I don't remember reading about a reason for her to do what she did.
@Taur  @JRE There are a few of us who don't "KNOW".  I'm silly enough to wait for evidence that can convict.  Crazy US Constitution prevents me from convicting without credible evidence.
@JRE Ah ha!  So you're the one who was appointed judge and jury regarding this.  It sounds like you'd prefer being the executioner too.  It's a good thing no one is convicted via the court of public opinion.  BTW, I don't care one way or the other about Terri or anyone else in this continuing saga....I DO care about a person's rights under the US Constitution.  If she's guilty, her day will come.  Until then, this is all speculation/ouiji board/crystal ball stuff.
@Sundowner @JRE - No one is being "judge and jury" - Terri is tighening her own noose with the public with her behavior and actions or lack of actions. An innocent person does not act like Terri does. They just don't.
@rozeguy What on earth does your comment have to do with anything even indirectly related to this story?  So you're a birther AND a Pete Rose fan.  Wow -- not a ton of people standing in your corner.
@Sundowner  @Taur  @JRE Well thanks to the Kenyan in the White House, we won't have any constitutional rights before long. He has already attempted to do away with the 2nd amendment and believe me the rest are yet to follow.
@Taur  @Quaoptician  @Sundowner  @JRE Unlike the TV shows that represent the Police being your friends just searching for justice is a bit misconstrued.  Reality is a little different. Innocent or guilty, when backed by an attorney, behaving or proceeding as Terry has is a smart move. Perhaps not to "hide" anything but to protect herself. You have heard of Miranda Rights yes?
Â
While it appears she [Terry] hasn't cooperated, the public does not know the details of the case.Â
Â
So contrary to what the television has programmed into the naive public. Guilty or innocent would behave this way.Â
@Quaoptician @Sundowner @JRE - oh, it's "adolecent" to expect an innocent person to cooperate and not act like they are hiding somthing? It's "adolecent" to expect a stepmother to act like she actually loved this child and is worried about this child? I am commenting as a stepmother about another stepmother so unless you, too, are a stepmother....?
@Sundowner @JRE - yes, but if she is "innocent" then there would be no reason to keep her mouth shut. She is doing this to herself and she has nobody to blame but herself. She's has a home, a bed and food. She has all those comforts - does Kyron? If she's innocent then she should have nothing to worry about and cooperate - until then; her actions are going to frame everyone's opinion of her. I am a stepmom too. If my stepson disappeared? I'd be cooperating 100%. I'd be out looking for him. I'd be posting flyers. I'd be talking to the public. I would be supporting his mother and father and just doing anything and everything I could to help. Terri's not doing that and there has to be a reason why.
@Taur  @Sundowner  @JRE Anyone with a good attorney does, because the public would have already hung her. Your argument Taur is as adolescent as your comment.
@Taur   @JRE There's nothing wrong with an innocent person keeping their mouth shut.  It's a right afforded by the US Constitution, whether we think it's ethical or not.  And yes, most who comment regarding this case have her tried, convicted and want to personally carry out the execution.  I'll still hold out for credible evidence presented to a court.  Just not the court of public opinion.
If you don't care, then why are reading the story and posting here?
@Taur Third time, maybe this one will "stick".  I care about everyone's rights.  You see where I've said that, right?  That includes Kyron.  No where did I say, "He doesn't deserve justice".  I hate to wonder, but have you been diagnosed with alexia?
@KillsGermsOnContact Because it is a rather involved story, I share the same thoughts as Sundowner. It is too bad for the boy, but public opinion on this has been and always been a grab your torch and pitch fork mentality.
@Sundowner @KillsGermsOnContact - What about Kyron's rights? Doesn't he deserve justice? There is a child missing for 3 years. Parent's who are going through the worst hell you CAN'T even imagine and Terri is WILLINGLY choosing to not cooperate - if she want's to be treated fairly then maybe she needs to stop acting like she's guilty and cooperate and be helpful and you know - all the things an INNOCENT, loving stepmom would do.
@KillsGermsOnContact Try reading beyond what you WANT to and read the rest of what I said....I care about a person's rights.  Everyone's rights, not just the speculators.  BTW, if a person comes on a Kyron story and doesn't immediately "demand justice" for someone who hasn't even been accused of a crime, they get lambasted for being a friend of Terri or Terri herself.  I'm neither, that's why I said I don't care about Terri.  OK?
Sorry Horman family, but I truly think he is dead at the whim of his stepmother. It is disgusting that she will not step up to the plate and tell the truth of everything that happened then.
@Oh My - Unfortunately, I, and I am sure, a lot of others agree with you.
Terri knows.
