@Dr. Rawdog I think you are jumping to conclusions and very ill informed. You didn't know this lady at all otherwise you would've known how loving, warm she was and how much she was like a second mom to some of us. Don't be so quick to judge others by their age and abilities they should/ shouldn't have. Just because you have Dr as your title, doesn't mean MD, you could be a psychologist or a statistician.
This is a very dear friend of mine (who had no trouble driving). Accidents happen and everyone who knew her is extremely heartbroken and devestated. She was an incredible person, amazing grandma and loyal friend.Â
Thank you to all that have expressed your condolences.Â
 @hlee ~ My condolences to you for the loss of your friend... Â
I was there when this happened. It was very fast and out of nowhere. I cant believe she died. My condolences.
My condolences to the family of this lady. Â
I am amused by the bantering back and forth on an article with so little information. Some people will create reasons to argue.
Â
Â
I echo the condolences. Â A loss of life is tragic no matter the circumstances and right now, another family is hurting a little more.
Â
Â
I feel awful for the family but where I work I see seniors come in all the time who should not be on the road. I dont think 60 qualifies as a senior BUT I do agree that seniors should have to retake the driving test to make sure they are safe to drive. Of course its a case by case basis because some 80 year olds are still very sharp and some are not. I dont think asking people to retake the driving test is to much to ask when it comes to safety on the road.

 @BKeeler ~  I think "Dr Rawdog" is more of a troll than a "Dr"...  seems to enjoy offering opinions on people / things of which he has little-to-no knowledge...Â
(IOW, don't take anything seriously offered up by the trolls.. .they just like to irritate & upset people.) Â Â
 @Dr. Rawdog  Define "senior". I don't believe 60 qualifies.

 @Dr. Rawdog  @HenryBowman @oodathunked You and your crazy facts.  How do you live with yourself researching stuff and posting reasonable, logical, factual information?  The 'regulars' here aren't going to take well to that.  "Stay tuned, everybody."
@Dr. Rawdog Once again you've confirmed my suspisions

@Dr. Rawdog Thanx
 @Dr. Rawdog 60 is not old. Anyone can have an accident at any age....I do remember in Vancouver a few months back a person between the age of 18-21 wiping out and having an accident killing herself and seriously injuring a pedestrian...so what is your excuse this time.
Â
 @Dr. Rawdog 60 is not a senior by today's standards. Any age can have an accident, even you.....
Yeah, @Rawdog accidently thinks his comments are relevant or interesting and who knows how old he is...
 @oodathunked  He/she must have the deluxe version of 'Operation'.
@HenryBowman Good point, might be a woman.
@HenryBowman Yeah! He's a brain sturgeon.
 @oodathunked  Is he/she really a doctor?
@eap Take it easy on the doc he's only 10
 @Dr. Rawdog ~ Yeah, riiiight... like seniors are the only ones ever involved in auto accidents...  sheesh...

@Dr. Rawdog @RalphCramden @margay1 It could also reflect the rising number of seniors as opposed to previous decades. We baby boomers are aging and we are the largest population. That would explain the larger numbers.
Â
 @Dr. Rawdog  @margay1Â
The uptick is statistically insignificant and within the margin of error. I looked at the numbers versus the graph.
So by your "logic" in interpreting the data we should ignore Figure 1 and also not let anyone under the age of 35 drive?
He's a doctor, so I think he can read, only a little misunderstanding. I also think this can be sarcasm (cross my fingers) :)
 @Dr. Rawdog  @margay1Â
You own data does not support you comment. That is pretty weird.
Â
Do you know how to read data?
Condolences to her family and freinds.
Thank you for having a relevant and appropriate comment...
