Woman escapes before crashed car catches fire

BEAVERTON, Ore. – A woman crashed her car and escaped before it caught fire off Highway 26 in Beaverton Wednesday afternoon.
Police cited 28-year-old Evette Washington for DUII, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.
Washington was driving from Highway 26 to Highway 217 when she crashed her car into a median at 2 p.m. The car went off the road and stopped near a MAX train tunnel at the Sunset transit station.
Washington got out of her car before it caught fire. She was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
TriMet said a MAX train was not involved in the crash. Police asked TriMet to temporarily stop MAX traffic in the area as a precaution.
would have been fun to be on the train as that car was coming down the hill LOL
Flights diverted because....
"A woman crashed her car and escaped before it caught fir"
Damn shame this idiot didn't take herself out of the gene pool.
The bermuda triangle trimet stop for cars. Cars seem to have a strange magnetic attraction to the Sunset stop.
Bet she didn't have any insurance either. These drivers should be sentenced to minimum 5 years HARD LABOR...none of this bull of 40 hours public service krap! Not long there was an accident, driver had "multiple DUII arrests", 2 times served time for DUII with revoked license, had an accident...no license, revoked license, no insurance...he died when another car t-boned hm at a very dangerous intersection. Had he not been driving illegally x 3, he would not had the accident...still not known if he was drunk...had he been "not driving" as the law required, he would still be alive. Perhaps this lady will learn this time after serving some time.
So! Henry Bowman you are saying she had a hand-held communication device trying contact the Max Driver. The battery went dead so she decided to meet him at tunnel after she left her purse full of cupcakes on the Max. What?
You're all wrong, she was drunk........
"Itâs unclear what caused the crash."Â I will go out on a limb and suggest that it may have had something to do with hand-held electronic communication devices.
@HenryBowman I would bet on high speed being the main factor. Besides, why would she need a cell phone when she could communicate using the smoke form her burning car?
@Scotty9 @HenryBowman If you were old like me, you'd remember Tonto reading the smoke signs from the Indians in the distance.  When my sister and I tried it, we burned up her only coat.  Oops.
@Sundowner @Scotty9 @HenryBowman Â
LOL! At least you were smart enough to use HER coat!
Going out on a limb is part of the Seattle pot dude falling out of tree story isn't it? LOL It's obvious the car decided to go cross country on a nice day! After all, Hiway 26 is straight at that location.
@HenryBowman Why on earth would she have a walkie-talkie?
