Woman falls from Pearl District apartment, dies
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police said there are no signs of foul play in the death of a woman who fell from a Pearl District apartment.
The 19-year-old woman has been identified as Brittany M. Hickert of Cornelius.
Portland police responded just before 3 a.m. to a report of the fall at Broadstone Enso Apartments in the 1400 block of Northwest Marshall Street.
Officers interviewed several people attending a party in an apartment on the sixth floor of the complex. Investigators have yet to determine the circumstances of the woman's fall, according to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau.
My condolences to the family, we have buried a child and we know your pain, the circumstances of the death do not matter, but your life did, you will always be remembered. Â Rest in Peace Miss BrittneyÂ
no one is going to mention the village at lovejoy fountain fall?
 @Hazy ??? Please inform us!
"....Investigators have yet to determine the circumstances of the woman's fall, according to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau......"
Â
Good freaking grief.
Â
Up front, condolences to the family.  Having said that, if she was drunk and fell off the balcony on accident, that's far, far, different than if she jumped to commit suicide or if someone pushed her over.  Seems like a ton of information is missing, here....

 @NGerblansky You are an idiot. What's the point in this? The girl is dead, are you saying she somehow deserved to die because she was arrested once? Your comment is more of a reflection on you than her.
 @QuandoQuandoQuando  @NGerblansky Well, it might indicate that she had poor judgement. Of course there's many folks with poor judgement who never get arrested. Still it''s not completely irrelevant.
IÂ bet someone would have got some hot koochee if this wouldnt have happened.

 @Manic Peddy Take a minute to reflect: What if the person who fell was your best friend or a favorite relative. Would your comment be different from the one that you wrote?
 @mildred  @Manic Peddy don't feed this troll who keeps showing up on this K2 forum over and over and over and over and over again because K2 does not seem block him effectively.
Would this have happened without alcohol? Â Where are the concerned articles and concerned citizens about this heinous drug? Â I wish these people were smoking pot last night instead.
Come on now, she couldn't have been drinking.........she was only 19!
 @jpk LOL!!!
This never happened when this area was industrial and occupied by normal people. Â That was before the yuppies moved in and ruined the place.
@boomer .....grow up !
 @boomer By normal people, you mean heroin junkies?
 @boomer Brilliant comment.  (That's sarcasm)......and who still uses the term "Yuppies"Â
who supplied the alcohol?
 @Phuzz Probably someone who is a good talker, and wasn't arrested.  People are still arrested for pot though.
3:00 a.m., New Years eve, most likely alcohol involved, a dead young woman. Sad. Condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Hickert. This will get messy for the host.

@Manic Peddy Troll much?
Isn't the 'Real World' filming in that area? Â Or are they done?
A sad way to welcome in the new year. :(

BOOZE!
Very sad... seems there are always a few extra of these incidents at this time of year... some alcohol or drug-fueled; others intentionally (suicides); still others, the result of domestic violence... Â The holidays are happier times for some people than they are for others...
Rest in peace, unidentified lady...
 @margay1 Yep and the hypocrisy that no one on the left or in the main stream media is screaming for stricter alcohol control every time someone dies from it just burns me up since we all know how vocal they are every time some other "tool" is involved in a death.
 @FreedomRocks ~  Correct, FreedomRocks... I think it's all part and parcel of this "nobody is responsible for anything they do" mindset that seems to have infected a lot of the country these days... People don't want to be held accountable for anything, so they search all over, looking for someone / something else to "blame" for whatever happens...  Blame alcohol, guns, drugs, cars, their parents, a tough childhood, the politicians, the next-door neighbor's dog... whatever...it's all cool as long as the person doesn't have to account for their own actions.  Â
I'm truly sorry this lady died...and the WAY she died gives me cold chills... I suspect that an autopsy (tox analysis) might give them for info as to what caused her fall... but whatever the cause, it's sad that she died. Â We live in a world that can be dangerous sometimes... saving us from ourselves just is not possible...all the laws in the world won't do that. Â Â
Im thinking possibly yet another beer pong argument.
