Police ID woman found dead in Milwaukie home
MILWAUKIE, Ore. - A woman was found dead in a Milwaukie home and police are investigating the case as a homicide.
The body was discovered around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 4400 block of Southeast Roethe Road.
Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies had gone there after getting a 9-1-1 call from a mother who was worried about her daughter. She reported some suspicious circumstances so the sheriff's office went to check it out.
The woman's daughter was found dead at the home and at this point investigators say it appears she was murdered. The victim has since been identified as 41-year-old Michelle Leigh Walker.
Walker was interviewed by KATU back in 2007 after she was severely injured following a dog attack. The picture on the right is a file photo from that story.
As far as what happened over the weekend, neighbors told us they noticed something odd at the home but were not aware that something violent had happened.
"Sometime between 11:30 and midnight I could hear a lot of shouting back and forth between a female and a male," said neighbor Chris Hawkins. "And all of a sudden it stopped, like that."
Two neighbors reported hearing what sounded like gunshots. They also said a man often stayed at the home and that Walker has a son who is a sophomore at nearby Rex Putnam High School.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office's Confidential Tip Line by phone at (503) 723-4949, by using the online form or by sending a text message to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword CCSO as the first word in the message body. Reference case # 12-20253.
Investigators are specifically hoping to hear from anyone who saw something suspicious near the woman's apartment.
I knew Michelle personally. I've never known anyone that's been murdered before until yesterday. Michelle is in heaven to where no one can hurt her anymore.Â
Maybe thatâs the guy who did this he was making other noises as he thought I was gossiping about him something to the effect i was talking 'S--t" about him. And he was severely dehydrated and looked as if he hadn't been to the gym in 3 decades might have had hepatitis. I've never seen him before.
Stuff happens I had some guy try to get into a fight with me the other day because I told him I don't like his cig smoke while I'm eatin an Ice Cream sandwich. I would have probably took him up on his request but as I didn't see the need to spend 6 months in jail for introducing his face to the concrete in a very un-nice way I decline his invitation and left. But that's Weirdville for ya.
Sad, it looks like she has had her share of struggles. If those scars on her face are from the dog attack, she really got mauled. Now she is dead, sad!
While I am sorry that the woman was murdered, at this point the story really has too little information to go on. There are no names, and "Milwaukie" is a fairly large area, so unless KATU updates this story, I doubt the Sheriff's Office is going to get many tips.Â
I drive by there often. I live in the area. The majority of the apartment dwellers in that area don't speak English as a primary language. Makes you wonder if the killer was white trash, or just another variety of trash. It's a shame that people have to die when most of the parasites that do the killing could be eliminated.

@last boyscout Let's be clear; there ARE some apartments in the area, and some of them are Grade-A Crap Holes. However, I too live in that area (4 blocks away, to be precise), and 98% of the residences off Jennings are frame houses. Lots of Ranch style, and lots of 2 story homes. Many of them between Oak Grove and Roethe are quite nice. It's a 30 and 35 MPH zone. People here do block parties, and I know my neighbors; the grade school is one of them.
Whereabouts do YOU live? When you say the "area", does that mean the trailer park across from Ace Hardware, or one of the McMansions along the water? You're making this out to sound like a ghetto...and it is NOT. That cul-de-sac where they took those photos clearly shows that this is a decent, $225k and UP neighborhood.

Â
What are you talking about? Those pictures clearly show attached dwellings. NOt even close to 225k. Notice the no yards and all of the car parking right up to the side of the dwelling? These are apartments or a complex of duplexes....

That aisde I dont know the racial makeup of the housing. Makes no difference to me, or this case. I lived in the area around 95-97 and it was pleasant and quiet. Too many rentals for my liking and generally renters do not take care of the property and the landscape becomes full of eyesores...
@last boyscout As usual, you try to make it racial and as usual it turns out you are wrong.
Is it just me, or has there been a frightening amount of murders in the Portland metropolitan area this year?
@randomdude There's a whole lot of weirdness and anger out there right now.
@Scotty9 @randomdude I agree with you . I feel it's alot of anger and depression.
