Yakima 'pipe bomb' was filled with marijuana
YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A utility worker discovered what appeared to be a pipe bomb outside a home Thursday in Yakima.
Police called in an Army bomb squad. The street was closed and neighbors evacuated as the bomb squad blew one end off the cylinder.
That's when authorities learned the pipe was not filled with explosives. It was filled with marijuana.
Yakima Herald-Republic readers told the paper the cylinder was likely being used to extract a highly concentrated oil or resin from the marijuana.

I read about this somewhere and saw a picture. They take all the junk that isn't useable, cram it in a pipe and shoot a bottle of butane down it, which strips the THC off, runs out into some sort of collecting pan. Butane boils off at normal air temperature so what's left is pure THC oil with no pollutants or vegetable matter. (I love learning about outlaw chemistry as long as it's not meth.)
Somewhere in the process it ends up in therapy oil, so you can apply directly to muscle tissue like sports cream, without all the tar, carbon, lung pollutants... I have no idea if it gets 'em "high", or if the point of it is -not- to, but, that's what it's for.Â
Once the Nanny Statists stop jacking with things, the real innovators won't be afraid to come out and make products that don't require smoking or bongs or dreadlocks.
Haha, I used to know a guy that would put his bud in a jar and bury in the backyard for months or years on end. He claimed it "cured" the bud and made it stronger. In actuality, I think this was his own self-prevention measure to stop from smoking it all. Never really tried it myself but this story reminded me of it.
