Ecuadorean ambassador: Assange has lung infection

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) - Ecuador's ambassador to Britain says WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has developed a chronic lung infection and requires constant medical attention at his refuge in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London.
Ambassador Ana Alban made the comment to reporters in the Ecuadorean capital of Quito on Wednesday without offering further details.
Assange took refuge in Ecuador's London embassy on June 19 after unsuccessfully fighting extradition from Britain to Sweden for questioning on sexual assault charges filed by two women. Ecuador later granted him asylum.
Alban says Ecuador is covering Assange's medical costs and continues to seek his safe passage out of Britain. British authorities have refused.
Assange gained fame for publishing online the biggest trove ever of sensitive documents, U.S. diplomatic cables and military files from the U.S. and Afghan wars.

I have gas.... does that make me newsworthy?
The only lung infection he has is that he keeps breathing!
Awwww... Hey... I know what... we have some good doctors in the US... send him over and we'll make sure he gets all the care he deserves.
Are we suppose to cry over this?
@sortbait No it is just a "cover story" but then again he might really have such a thing..They won't really get him, this will be one long expensive drawn out thing. But Britain has the Pounds to continue flogging the issue. but the Damage Julian Assange has done is great. . it is amazing how much one Guy can cost a few countries.
@lee986321  @sortbait " but the Damage Julian Assange has done is great"
Yeah pointing out the truth is damaging especially when it shows how we lied the country into a war and all the international laws we broke during said war!Â
Â
Back in the 60's these guys were called whistle blowers and seen as a vital asset to our country....today, they are terrorists and (not surprisingly) you buy right into it!
Â
"it is amazing how much one Guy can cost a few countries"
What countries did he cost and what did he cost them?
Â

Â
The military prosecution has not presented evidence that, by releasing secret documents, PFC Manning injured anyone, and they have asserted in court that the charge of "aiding the enemy through indirect means" does not require them to. Nor have they denied that his motivations were conscientious; they have simply argued they are irrelevant. In ignoring this context, and recommending a much more severe punishment for Bradley Manning than is given to US soldiers guilty of murdering civilians, military leadership is sending a chilling warning to other soldiers who would feel compelled by conscience to reveal misdeeds. It is our belief that leaders who use fear to govern, rather than sharing wisdom born from facts, cannot be just.
@moej  @lee986321  @sortbait What confidential informants did they leak to the public....names please.....after all it was leaked and you know for a fact it was so please....names???!?!?
Â
"who are probably dead now,"
Fact or conjecture? Â
@Razor1  @lee986321  @sortbait What "dangerous position" did they put is in.....be specific!
@moej  @lee986321  @sortbait Well if supported what we were saying then what was the problem?
Â
"The leaks actually showed the USA to be surprisingly honest and really showed how unerhanded Iran is"
Specifically list out the things it showed Iran was "underhanded" about? Â Please, lets DO take this discussion to Iran as I have stuied it and by the way you talk I know you don't know the first thing about it other than what the MSM tells you. Â Funny, the liberal and conservative media are in lockstep with their Iran propaganda, just like they were during the run up to Iraq....how did that work out again?
Â
You really don't know the first thing about anything other than talking points do you!
@B Smizzle  @lee986321  @sortbait There is a line between so called "Whistle Blowing", and treason. Because of these two ( One a traitor, and the other an enemy to the state.) We are put in a dangerous position. I can't see where anyone would think these idiots did anyone a favor.
@B Smizzle  @lee986321  @sortbait cont - forgot to mention that the real damange this guy did with Wikileaks is out so many of the USA's confidential informants, who are probably dead now, and made it extremely difficult for future operations to gather good info.
@B Smizzle  @lee986321  @sortbait Actually, no it didn't. Most of it supported what the US was saying and he also released thousands of documents that showed Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and other Arab nations were privately begging the USA to invade Iraq, while publicly condemning it. The leaks actually showed the USA to be surprisingly honest and really showed how unerhanded Iran is. Iran even called the leaks part of US propaganda because it was so favorable to the US.
@wvboy "With the multitude of material this information terrorist (Assange) let out - there is bound to be some unflattering truths come out - no duh.  Assange nor the Army private who should hang for his transgression even begin to meet the legal definition of a "whistleblower"."
Â
Oh so pointing unflattering truths IS NOT being a a whistle blower but being an information terrorist....okay got it.  Sorry, didn't know pointing out the TRUTH made you a terrorist!  Using your logic Woodward and Bernstein were info terrorists after all they reported an "unflattering truth!"
Â
That said, what did he point out that was so unflattering....huh? Â Funny people would cry about the truth being told but not actually the actions we did wrong! Â That would be like your kid breaking a window with a rock but only getting mad at the kid who actually told on them, not your kid for doing wrong! Â Makes lots of sense....and I am the one smoking what?
B Smizzle - Can I have some of what you have been smoking? Because it obviously has made you lose all touch with reality or facts. With the multitude of material this information terrorist (Assange) let out - there is bound to be some unflattering truths come out - no duh. Assange nor the Army private who should hang for his transgression even begin to meet the legal definition of a "whistleblower". Crawl back under your 1960's rock and keep token dude.
