In Connecticut, Biden urges action on gun control
DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden is trying to rally support for the administration's proposals to curb gun violence, saying there will be a moral price to pay for inaction.
Biden is speaking Thursday at a conference in Danbury, Conn., just a few miles from the scene of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He says that America has changed its views of gun control since the Dec. 14 massacre of 26 people inside the Newtown school.
Other speakers, including the parents of a 7-year-old girl killed at Sandy Hook, urged Congress to honor the memories of the victims with strong action.
Meanwhile, Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced he wants to immediately ban high-capacity ammunition magazines, require background checks for the transfer of firearms and expand the state's assault weapons ban.

Pssssst, Joe... These proposals are DOA. There's a very slight chance that you might get the universal manditory background checks on your bosses desk, but even that one will end up having loopholes big enough to park a semi full of Tec-9s in. I'll tell you what, since you want so badly to do what the majority of Americans 'demand', why don't you and the Pres start actually working on something that would actually benefit the majority of Americans? Like, I dunno... the budget?

Police are presently investigating the thousands of dollars of violent video games that Lanza had in his home, and whether or not he was emulating actions graphically described in the games. How come our esteemed VP can't consider that in his rants against "gun control"? People, VP Biden, do things they are accustomed to doing, whether it's driving under the influence, gambling, smoking, you name it! It's the people that do things that they are responsible for and should be held accountable. Whether using a hammer, a knife, or a firearm, none of these things are intrinsically violent with the free will to choose; only humans have that ability! Â

It really does not bother me that much that a politician is telling me what I need for self-defense. There will always be politicians with no understanding who serves whom, with no humility and no honor. What bothers me is that so many Americans see no problem with it.

Connecticut already has some of the strictest laws in the nation! What they don't get is that laws don't change people's actions!
The wrong action isn't much different from inaction in this case. This is the same guy that's telling everybody to buy a shot gun for self defense, and also told his to simply step outside and fire a couple rounds to scare off intruders.
