Man kills himself inside Dick's Sporting Goods with store gun
FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa. (AP) — Authorities outside Philadelphia have identified an armed man who barricaded himself inside the bathroom of a sporting goods store and killed himself.
Bucks County Coroner Joseph Campbell said Sunday that 58-year-old Mark McCarty of Levittown died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
Authorities say he entered Dick's Sporting Goods in Fairless Hills after 7 p.m. Saturday and asked to see a shotgun and ammunition. McCarty pulled out a handgun — later found to be unloaded — and ordered the worker to undo the shotgun's gun lock. He then barricaded himself inside a bathroom.
The store and nearby businesses were evacuated during the four-hour-long standoff. No one else was hurt.
Lt. Henry Ward says McCarty had also been involved in a standoff with Middletown officers in 2002.

Any bad PR for Dicks is always good. One of the worst box stores out there.
So I hear firearms are destroyed if they are used in the commission of a crime. So this leads me to wonder. Will both guns be destroyed? Also do you think he went to the restroom because he shat himself while shooting himself?Â

@feralGuns are a right... In some states suicide is still illegal, does that somehow tickle your pickle?  sensitive to his issues? how much more vaginized can a statement get? The life would not be saved, because tall buildings, bridges, rope, razors, aspirin, Drano, ammonia, water, hairdryers, cars, etc are all still legal, I guess you better get to sending nutty proposals to your legislator.

@lakeview Pretty sure Obama, Feinstein and several other democrats have talked about/created legislation banning specific types of semi auto rifles. So no, they brought up banning certain types of guns.
