Officer shoots suspect in San Diego movie theater

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Police shot and critically wounded a man suspected of chasing his girlfriend with a handgun after they found him hiding inside a movie theater.
Officers went to an outdoor shopping center in northern San Diego on Saturday afternoon in response to a domestic violence call, Officer David Stafford said. He said the shooting occurred inside the Reading Cinemas theater about 3:50 p.m.
No other details were immediately released.
A San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said the suspect was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The owner of a business next to the theater said officers told him the armed man chased his girlfriend across a parking lot. Steve Krongard, the owner of the Nickel City arcade, said police shut down the lot, checked every car leaving the mall and went from businesses to business to look for the suspect until they found him in the theater.
"There were 20 police cars blocking the entrance, then the fire truck and the ambulance rushed in," Krongard said. "Then we saw seven cops with what looked like rifles, then paramedics went into the theater."
U-T San Diego reports the shooting occurred during a screening of "Les Miserables." Witnesses were evacuated from the theater.
Adrian Amante, the owner of the Home Trends store, told the newspaper people started running out of the theater and hiding behind cars.
It was the second shooting at a San Diego County movie theater in as many days.
A concession worker suffered an arm injury when a shot fired outside a San Marcos movie theater went through the lobby window and struck her, sheriff's officials said.
The shooting occurred during a fight in the parking lot at Edwards San Marcos Stadium 18 and triggered a large police response because authorities were initially not sure whether there was a shooter inside the Cineplex.
No arrests have been reported after San Marcos shooting.

Yup, it still happened despite the restrictive gun laws. Â Nothing's perfect, right California? Â Keep on trying and stuffin your head in the sand, maybe it'll get better some day.
Â
The media blitz is very apparent these days, as is the political "never let a crisis go to waste" stuff.
Â
I just wish the anti-gun clowns could come up with a NEW argument.  Everything I've heard lately is the same old tired and discredited tripe that we listened to in the 80's, same emotional propaganda, same double-talk from politicians who enjoy a private army's protection 24/7, same tear-jerking rhetoric from Hollywood who makes a killing by glorifying killing then decrying killing...
Â
Nothing's changed. Â Â
And with all those gun laws in California, you'd think that it would prevent it. I guess it goes to show people that no matter how many laws you make, it doesnt stop a criminal from committing a crime.
Good job police!
@Jim330rifle Taking the bad guys out, one dumb arse at a time.
WTH is going on with people now..?!? Â Â Are there more of these events happening, or are we just hearing / reading about more of them (aka: media hype)..? Â Â
I swear, it sounds like the whole darned country is coming apart..! Â Sheesh..!
@margay1 It could be media hype, margay1, but I'm not so sure it is. As most long-term posters here know, I am a Christian. Like everyone else - be they Christian, Buddhist, atheist, what have you - I view events through the lens of my beliefs. I have long believed we are much closer to the events in Revelation than a lot of people believe. I am beginning to think we are much closer than even I thought. Don't get me wrong - I am not about to set a date for Christ's return. The Bible is makes it very clear that no man knows the hour or the day; however, Christ did say that there would be signs that His return was "even at the door". Christ said "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (King James Version) Christ described everyday activities such as marriage and eating but if you look at the story of Noah in Genesis, the Bible says those days were full of violence ("The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence." Genesis 6:11).
Â
I know some trolls will bash me for my beliefs and whatever. I also know that many who are not trolls will not agree with my assessment. That's ok too - everyone has the right to their opinion. All I am truly asking is for people to take a good hard look at what is happening in the world and consider the consequences if I am right.
@theprodigal  @margay1 ~  A very thoughtful post, Prodigal... thank you... I guess my beliefs are best described as agnostic... Â
I don't know how the events in recent years (say, the last 2 or 3 decades) relate to what the Bible predicts... but I think that we humans, as a species, are definitely en route to some kind of a "crossroads" (for lack of a better term)... We have plundered our earth to the point that we, as well as its other inhabitants, are endangered, and we do have the technology and capability of pretty much destroying the majority of life as we know it...Â
Our little planet has been a violent place for quite a long time now... but recently, it seems as though the "warring factions" are drawing the lines in the sand deeper than ever before, with different governments, different political structures - and yes, different religions - determined to overcome and control all others, each in the firm belief that its views, beliefs and objectives are the "right way" for everyone. Â Â
People in this country are more sharply divided than I have ever seen them before...we seem to be living "right on the edge"... I can't help but wonder how long we can continue this way...
@theprodigal  @margay1 I have to agree with you "theprodigal".
The truth is we have removed god from the very fabric of this nation.
The trolls have there issues. But all I can say is Mother Killing children, Children slaying there parents, much of this was for told over 2,000 years ago. People hearts failing them and committing suicide. There is much that is happening and earths climate change is right on par as well.
I mean the seas are very angry and so forth. I am paraphrasing and using examples.
We also have wars and rumors of wars, Quakes in Diverse places, a person can literally place a check mark with all that has occurred.
People shouldn't hate the book that for told this, but they hate the truth.
They hate being wrong and that is the issue with the human race.
We are arrogant, prideful, lying, thieving, disobedient , and self destructive.
I mean slaying our parents and children?
The only thing left is the Mark of the beast.. I think that once that occurs many peoples will be opened. Or they will become totally hateful towards all Christians sending us to death just because of our values and beliefs.
When this time comes. There will be no Neutrality , the people think they will be doing a service to there country by reporting us as terrorists.
Â
People will either be Christian or not. Once the mark has been received, People would have sold there souls for what? Security? Freedom? Money? Work? if one asks me it sounds like the mark of the beast is a form of slavery.
If any one wishes to ponder that side be my guest. It can and will happen and it has already been written into the Homeland security act.
You can not argue with that fact. and I can provide a link as well. I just have search for it.
@lee986321  @theprodigal ~  Lee, I have never shot anything except paper targets and old tin cans in my whole life... and I don't hate anybody (except thieves)...Â
I have heard about that "implant" before... but I don't think this is anything that's going to happen in the near future... WAY too much involved... and right now, we can't afford anything like that...
@theprodigal  @margay1 This will be control in all fashion from guns to rather you live or die.
@theprodigal  @margay1 Special note to KATU please do not remove or censor this in any shape or form.Â
The public has the right to know of such an existent technology which is in the planning stages.
@theprodigal  @margay1 and here is the link to attest to it as factual and true , This has not been canceled, scrapped, or forgotten about.:

@theprodigal  @margay1 and please do not shoot me or hate me for posting this. This year it is suppose to start its testing. You might or might not hear about it in the news in the very near future.
@lee986321 @margay1 "If one asks me it sounds like the mark of the beast is a form of slavery." You are spot on, lee. The problem is many who accept the mark will not realize the full meaning until it is too late.
@margay1 Media is every where and there plan is to run this gun thing into the ground until we either vomit on the media that covers this crap. We don't need a play by lay on this.
The other part, is yes the country is falling apart at the seams.
@margay1 I'm wondering the same thing.is MSM fueling fire on guns? Did it ever accure to anyone that all this media hype will just make people more paranoid about guns?As a member of the armed left, I don't have answers and even though I actually enjoy going to the range on a regular basis, this media saturation seems to be inescapable.
