Philly officer caught on video hitting woman to be dismissed

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A police officer seen on video punching a woman at a Philadelphia street party is being suspended for 30 days as of Thursday with the intent to dismiss.
Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey took what police called "commissioner's direct action" on Wednesday in the case of Lt. Jonathan Josey following Sunday's events during a festival associated with the city's Puerto Rican Day parade.
Prosecutors earlier said a disorderly conduct charge against the woman was being withdrawn.
The 36-second video uploaded to YouTube and titled "Philadelphia Police Brutality" shows the woman crumpling to the ground after being struck Sunday in north Philadelphia. The woman appears to be bleeding from the mouth as she is led away in handcuffs.
Moments before the woman was hit, the video shows someone else throwing a liquid toward the officers. The woman was also seen spraying something from a can.
The president of the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police says Josey is eager to tell his side of the story to internal investigators.

Why is the woman about to be dismissed? (Not a great headline, that.)
America is under occupation by a paramillitary police state, And they see regular Americans as the enemy...
More government sanctioned terrorism at the hands of the police state.
Well, it IS Philadelphia. City of Brotherly Love.

I'd hate to have seen what he'd do if he hated her. Sheesh!
The video is pretty damning. It definitely appears the cop could have used alternative means to take this woman into custody short of the "haymaker." Of course I am sure Jesse Jackson will rush in to defend the woman beating cop.
@I812 And don't forget Reverend Al "Not-so" Sharpton, too!
@Mikey  @I812 Where is Sean Hannity when you need him. I guess he out bashing Obama.
@African Lion  @Mikey  @I812 As he should be since all of the main stream media refuses to do their job...
Cops will never be held accountable for their crimes. Police work is a fail safe method for criminal activity and perpetrating an ongoing series of perfect crimes.
In Portland he could have shot her dead in cold blood then had a vacation while the "incident" was "investigated" the Grand Jury would find no reason to bring charges, the Mayor would suspend him without pay, and the Police Union would advocate on his behalf before a state arbitrator and he would be restored to his position and receive retroactive pay and interest for the interruption to his career. Because everyone knows that Portland Police aren't just above the law they are the law.
@Icarus Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) "I am the law."
Judge Dredd (Sylvester Stallone) "I AM THE LEAWWEWWEWWR."
F%*K that cop! 30 day suspension? He frigin' blatantly assaulted that woman. He should be fired and prosecuted. Protect and serve indeed you loser.Â

Like I've said before, never ever call the cops, they kill people. Thugs with badges.
@criticalreason First sentence of the article - the suspension was "with the intent to dismiss". That's a fancy way of saying fired. No word regarding prosecution, those things usually move slower.
@JTesla  @criticalreason Yeah I read that, thanks, My comments stand, he should be fired and prosecuted. F&*K the police.
Back in the day - in both Philly and New York it was common to see the beat cop smack people on the knees with thier night sticks people who were loitering or laying about on the streets or sidewalks. That looked like it hurt too. Not excusing the cops actions - just a little reminicing.
disorderly conduct ?? is striking an officers fist with your face in that category ??
@sargerator Terrorist regularly charge someone they have beaten to a pulp for "resisting arest" mearly for trying to block thier face from the brutal police state assault.
@sargerator She was spraying "something" from a can at the officer. IA will exonerate him.
@Torino  @sargerator It was Silly String she sprayed at him - several witnesses said so. She had been walking along spraying it at the festival-goers without thinking that it might earn her a knuckle sandwich from a PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER!
