With all the iPads and Wii controllers swirling around our heads every day it's not very easy to be wowed by something like the practically infinite wonders of outer space. But thanks to a South Dakotan with some high-tech gear and a heap of patience, we can see that the Milky Way (our home galaxy for you non-astronomers) still remains almost indescribably beautiful. These three minutes of timelapse photography shows rocketing stars, hurtling clouds and moonlight that fills up the sky. Pausing the video at any time reveals a scene that would choke up Galileo.
