When the Clark County Skills Center celebrates its 25th anniversary, Saturday, May 17, the captains of the Time Bandit – Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand – from the Discovery Channel’s top-rated Deadliest Catch, will appear as part of the celebration.

The Hillstrands will be signing copies of their new book "Time Bandit: Two Brothers, the Bering Sea and One of the World’s Deadliest Jobs" from Ballantine Books. The signing is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Skills Center, 12200 N.E. 28th Street in Vancouver.

The celebration runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and also includes tours and displays from the Skills Center’s career and technical programs, live music from three local bands, a car show, food booths, a silent auction and a special reunion for all 18,000 Skills Center graduates. KOOL-FM’s Scott Tom will emcee. Event sponsors are The Columbian, iQ Credit Union and Bank of Clark County.

Opened in 1983, the Clark County Skills Center is owned and operated by ten southwest Washington school districts providing technical and professional training programs that prepare Clark County high school and college students for the workforce.
