During the month of May, Mt. Hood National Forest announces an expansion of hours at three key office locations to improve service to the public during the late spring and summer.  Expansion of office hours is also intended to help support tourist-based businesses in the local Mt Hood Village Communities, and communities of Estacada, Parkdale, and Hood River.

During the winter and early spring, all offices are open only Monday through Friday.  The Zigzag Ranger District office, located in Zigzag will be open seven days each week beginning on Sunday, May 11 while the Clackamas River Ranger District office located in Estacada will be open on Saturdays starting May 17.  Beginning May 31, the Hood River Ranger District office located in Parkdale will also open on Saturdays.

All three Ranger District offices are located at convenient portals to the Mt. Hood National Forest.  People needing information about recreation opportunities, or who are in need of firewood, mushroom, and beargrass permits will find these services conveniently available as they head toward their activity on the national forest.

A summary of office hours for all Mt. Hood National Forest locations follows:

Zigzag Ranger District

• 70220 E. Highway 26, Zigzag, OR, (503) 622-3191.
• Beginning May 11, office is open seven days per week from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Clackamas River Ranger District

• 595 Industrial Way, Estacada, OR, (503) 630-6861.
• Beginning May 17, office is open Monday though Saturday:  7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays only.

Hood River Ranger District, Parkdale

• 6780 Highway 35, Parkdale, OR, (541) 352-6002.
• Beginning May 31, office is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed for lunch on Saturdays only from noon to 12:30.

Barlow Ranger District

• Monday through Friday:  7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Mt. Hood National Forest Headquarters
