SISTERS, Ore. - Hoodoo will be wrapping up their 75th season this weekend and they're inviting folks to come by for one last 'Spring Fling.'
The ski area west of Sisters, Ore., has a full day planned on Saturday.
First, there's the crowd favorite - a pond skimming competition. That's where skiers and snowboarders try to make it across a 90-foot pond - all while dressed up in the wildest costume they can come up with. The winner will get a free 2013/2014 season pass.
There's also an Ultra-Cross Chaos race where teams of two (one skier and one boarder) race down a course and hit as many gates as they can. The winner will get a trophy and $40 gift certificate.
"We expect a great season-ending event," said Leif Williams with Hoodoo. He added that they'll be serving up barbecue for the guests and plan on having a blast before they sign off for the season. "It's a great party."
And Mother Nature will be making an appearance at Spring Fling - Williams told us they're expecting two to four inches of snow on Saturday. "That should make things interesting," he said.
Hoodoo will also be open to skiers and snowboarders on Sunday.
On a final note, this is a good time to buy a 2013/14 season pass - they're nearly half off right now.
