1. SIGN UP FOR A STORE VALUE CARD

Nearly all the grocery stores now offer their own customer value cards.  By using these cards, you get the lowest advertised prices.  While you're at it, sign up to earn money for your favorite school or non-profit youth organization every time you use the cards.

2.  SHOP AT A GROCERY STORE THAT ACCEPTS COMPETITOR COUPONS

Why settle for using one store's coupons, when you can use them all at the same store.  This way, you don't have to go from store to store to get the best deals.

3.  LOOK FOR THOSE DOUBLE COUPONS IN THE TUESDAY NEWSPAPER

In the Food section of The Oregonian on Tuesday, you'll find double coupons for Safeway and Thriftway.  Cut them all.  Use them at a store that accepts competitor coupons, and you'll be able to save double the coupon value (up to 50-cents) on eight items.  Also, Safeway periodically has a $10 off coupon inside the Food section.  Look for it!

4.  USE GROCERY COUPONS FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT BOOK AND CHINOOK BOOK

The Entertainment and Chinook Books sell for about $20 each.  However, you'll easily make that money back.  Use one of the grocery store coupons per week at a store that accepts competitor coupons.

5.  CHECK ONLINE FOR GROCERY COUPONS

Check these websites weekly for coupons:
