PORTLAND, Ore. - Saving money: Sweet deals on back-to-school supplies.

The KATU Problem Solvers found some great back-to-school deals for you.

Some parents will be spending this weekend shopping for back-to-school. But some deals are so tempting, you may want to take advantage of them, even if you're already done with your back-to-school list.

Shopping experts advise getting extra, inexpensive supplies to use mid-year, next year or to donate to needy kids.

The shopping site Hot Coupon World recommends these deals:

Target is having a buy one, get one at half-off sale. With that and coupons, you can get Mead Five Star filler or graph paper for $1.61 and a 64-pack of Crayola crayons for $1.54.

At Walmart, you can get composition notebooks for 50 cents and two-pocket paper folders for 15 cents.

Kmart is offering rulers for 25 cents, and packs of index cards as well.

Office Depot ads promise protractors, erasers, scissors and glue for 25 cents each.  They also show two-pocket paper folders 1 cent each, if you spend $5 or more.

Staples is offering 500 sheets of copy paper for $3 with a coupon and after a rebate. The store also is has a coupon for $5 off of your $30 purchase, plus a price match guarantee.

Some of these offers have limits. Most are good through Saturday, though the Walmart prices are advertised through Sunday as well.
