Fed: Hackers breached website with contact info
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Federal Reserve says an internal website was briefly breached by hackers but no critical Fed operations were affected.
The Fed says the website contained contact information for more than 4,000 banking executives, including office and cell phone numbers. The information had been collected so the Fed could reach executives during natural disasters, such as hurricanes.
Fed spokeswoman Lisa Oliva says the hackers had exploited a "temporary vulnerability" in the website. She says the exposure has been fixed, the executives have been informed of the breach and it is no longer an issue.

Nice score, now the hackers know who to target and how to target.
Hackers need to have severe penalties for doing this stuff. It should be a felony and 20 years at hard labor.
@RalphCramden Oh grow up, this is the computer age, if you haven't been hacked then you haven't been computing long enough, if you haven't had to deal with a virus, then you haven't computing long enough, and if you do not know the difference between exploit and a down right attack, maybe you shouldn't own a computer.,

I have hacked my computers reg system, does that make me a bad person?
@lee986321  @RalphCramden I've never been hacked either.. And its vigilance and knowing what to do if someone is trying. I notice every tiny flicker on my computer, I know enough to totally disconnect it. If its disconnected, they can't get at it or in it. I also know how to reprogram the whole dam thing. I know what it should and should not be doing.I admin also online and have seen lots of stuff. My vigilance keeps the forum 99.9% free, up and running!
Â
Not sure why the hell you attacked Ralph like this, but that is so dam wrong.. he said nothing here to warrant that! I think hackers need to pay a higher penalty also. More jail time and high fines to boot.
Â
What you do to your own computer is your business, its when someone else does it to steal and profit that it becomes a crime unless your doing things to violate the Eula's then its between you and the company's. The only other thing I have against hackers is using someones else's computer (or forum) to spam or just mess it up.
Â
I don't know what the heck is the matter with you, but its not very adult of you to attack someone like this with no obvious reason..   I'll give you the same advice I give some of our posters, take a step back, take a deep breath, let it out, repeat patience is virtue 1 times, then go outside and scream! You'll feel a lot better and someone else won't suffer for the bad mood and uptight reaction..

We have 3 computers here.. I have two, desktop and small notebook for traveling. Daughter has a laptop. Only she and I handle them for stuff. What I don't know, she does. We can even do a bit of upgrading and fixing stuff.Â
Â
I know I stay off those sites, and I always check the mail online regardless first, then download what I need to! :) The isp does a darn good job of keeping the spam gone! Its been nicer being on Sat! Everything goes quicker too! Keep the anti virus up and do my spybot S&D weekly..

I have separate accounts for all the users on my computers. Non administrative users cannot change the OS so they can't install anything or download any programs.
Â
Many of the viruses are at porn sites, bootleg music and software sites, or game sites and since I never go there I am low risk for getting a virus. I also have a Mac and there is only a few viruses for that OS currently.

Never been hacked. Never had a virus. Been computing since 1962.
