Taiwan asking Apple to blur satellite image
TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — Taiwan is asking Apple Inc. to blur a map image of its new $1.4 billion early warning radar station that can detect aircraft and missiles coming from as far as western China.
Defense Ministry spokesman David Lo said Tuesday that Apple should follow its rival Google in using only low-resolution satellite pictures to show sensitive facilities. He acknowledged the military should also try to camouflage them.
The 10-story high radar installation built with U.S. technology is expected to go online later this year. It's near the Hsinchu Air Base in northern Taiwan.
The satellite picture that can be viewed with iPhones is believed to have been taken a year ago.
Local media say the radar installation can monitor targets, determine their speeds and fire missiles to intercept them.

Looks like Google has like 100 acres of the whole facility blurred out.

You can't miss it, it is so blurry. Near the north end of the island, there is Taibei Airport. Near the west end of the main runway, just north of the canal you can see what looks like a 12 square block area that is highly pixilated. Some of the descriptions are of high schools and Jr highs, but most of it has no names at all.

That must be the facility.
@Repoman I've been in Hsinchu.  I would have thought the atmospheric pollution would be enough to render pixellation unnecessary.
@Repoman and good ol area 51 is blurred as well, and some areas around the globe are blurred? ok so any one with brains would go for blurred areas. No rather they make it in or out is totally up to there luck and flying skills.
