Video shows grifter scamming store clerk
CLACKAMAS, Ore. - Clackamas County Deputies have released video of a man they say is scamming a gas station attendant into giving him money using a "wrong change" scam.
Deputies are looking for 44-year-old Rodney Vaughn, and said he may be somewhere in the Portland or Salem area.
Deputies say Vaughn asked the cashier at a Wilsonville gas station to exchange five $20 bills for a $100 bill.
On the video, the clerk gives him the $100 but as Vaughn starts to walk away, he quickly slips the $100 bill under his shirt and then claims the cashier only gave him $20.
The cashier thinks it was his mistake and gives Vaughn another $100.
Deputies said that anyone who sees Vaughn should call police.
